In 1851 the priest Dr. Franz Ludwig Bardum invited the School Sisters of Notre Dame to teach at the girls’ school and to manage the orphanage and the primary school on the opposite side of the road. A “Höhere Töchterschule” with a boarding school could be added in 1854. This school was included in the state-owned secondary school in 1973.
The Prince zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg in Kleinheubach and Major Johann Robert von Capitain in Miltenberg supported the congration.
In 1859 the congregation built the main building of the girl’s secondary school “Institut de Notre Dame”. Until 1936 the complex was repeatedly extended due to an increasing number of students.
In 1954 the “Institut” counted 310 students and 120 children in the kindergarten.
In 1973 the “Institut” was closed after 122 years of work. The girls’ secondary school was included in the state-owned secondary school. The charity organisation Caritas took over the building and has since used it as a retirement home and nursing home.
