Apothecary Museum

In 1514, the first pharmacy in this area – which was under the Mainz electorate – was established in Miltenberg. The fact that not even Aschaffenburg had one highlights the importance of Miltenberg.

Early in the 18th century, the structure underwent renovations and was rebuilt in the Baroque style.

In 2016, the drugstore ceased operations after more than 500 years. A privately owned pharmacy museum that showcases the history of medicine and pharmacy since the 16th century is welcoming visitors in the historic building since 2021. A historic garden filled with medical herbs may be found in the Fischergasse, which is behind the pharmacy.
